Applications will only be accepted from candidates who are SA Citizens, or already in possession of a valid SA work permit, permanent residence status. Please do not apply for this position if you do not have the required skills and qualifications.
Knowledge and experience of software languages such as C or C++ will be an advantage for this position but in-house training in programming and software design will be provided where necessary. Capability in real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, network communications protocols and device drivers will also be an advantage.
Candidates will be graduate electronics engineers with a BSc (Eng) or preferably an MSc (Eng) in Electronic Engineering.
You will be involved in the software engineering and development of real-time computer systems as well as the hardware design and development of peripherals for rugged computer systems. You will require a sound technical capability as well as being team-orientated. Report writing skills are essential.
